Tailpiece

Since the publication in 2007 of the Animal Welfare Bill in the U.K. it is illegal to dock puppies' tails unless they are to be used for gundog work or terrier work, and breeders having to 'prove' to their Vet. that this will be the case before they will dock. This new law relates to puppies born on or after 6th. April 2007.

The docking of tails had been optional in the Breed Standards for both Norwich and Norfolk Terriers since 1984 in the U.K. and a number of breeders have been leaving tails undocked for some years.
